Resin

As the industry leader in custom-made resin objects, we are constantly creating new and exciting ways to utilize this striking medium.

  • Resin has traditionally been known for its industrial uses.

However, the versatility and sustainability of the product allows for nearly limitless applications in the design world.

  • It can be tinted any color and have any opacity with either a matte or polished finish.

The surface can be textured, objects can be embedded in it and—because it starts as a liquid—it can be molded into any shape.

  • The look of cast resin pieces can be altered dramatically through lighting as well.

It can be back-painted or mounted to a mirrored surface to reflect light back through the piece, creating beautiful illumination effects.

Customization Options

  • Fractured resin

Made popular in France during the 1950s, fractured resin is one of our most popular and dynamic material treatments.

Fractured resin objects are incredibly dynamic and can change dramatically depending on their lighting. Resin is spectacular in its ability to transmit natural or artificial light and we are able to control its refractory qualities by altering the size and quantity of the embedded aggregate.

  • Smoke resin

Additional pigment in the form of ‘smoke’ can also be incorporated into a piece. The color and aggregate combinations are limitless and offer an array of completely customizable options.

  • Opacity

Opacity can be altered by adding non-translucent pigment to the piece. Objects can also be back-painted to obscure any support structures underneath.

The finish can also impact opacity. A matte finish will keep light from passing through, leading to an object that appears more opaque.

Resin can also be cast with a gradient or ombré effect—allowing a piece to go from completely opaque to completely clear. This is an effective technique in both small and large-scale objects.
